At the Sammamish race, I was worried about rain, so decided to try something new – wear a pair of wool socks. Not a good idea, and got blisters going 13+ miles.
Last week, I didn’t have my usual brand of socks to run in. So, I ran without socks. Not a good idea, as I wore skin off 4 small places around my ankles and ended up gingerly walking back the 2 miles to home base. Today I ran and thank goodness for “2nd Skin Moist Burn Pads” 2nd Skin is a gel like substance that attaches to skin molding itself like new skin. I covered the tender areas with 2nd Skin and my ankles felt heavenly.
Do not try something new the day of the race.
